Network Analysis
The Problem at Hand: Network Analysis The project's core challenge revolved around network analysis, with a focus on various transportation services. The learning scenario was that students were hired by the English School, Nicosia as a team of consultants, to create and analyze a bus network. Their aim was to connect the school with seven other locations in the city of Nicosia and create an efficient transportation network for students. They were given a budget of 5 million euros to buy buses, build stations, and to hire bus drivers to buy the school’s buses. They had to buy 8 buses and 2 minibuses. As consultants, they had to offer expert recommendations, drawing upon their expertise in mathematics, specifically Algebra, Graph Theory, and Computer Applications.
SUS Garden
Introduction:
The STEAM learning scenario ‘The SUSgarden’ was one of the intellectual outputs of the project ‘ImTech4Ed’ realized at the English School, Nicosia, spanning from March to May 2023. The project was seamlessly woven into the Year 1 PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health, and Citizenship Education) curriculum, catering to students aged 12 to 13. Its primary objective was to synergize diverse subjects within Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) to foster a profound understanding of sustainability and its tangible applications.

The ‘Musical Instruments’ project
In the spring of 2023, students from the Design and Technology Club of the English School Nicosia (12- 13 years old) embarked on an innovative journey to create their own musical instruments. This exciting initiative was born out of a practical necessity: a shortage of percussion instruments for all students during their music lessons. The project not only aimed to provide students with the tools they needed to perform rhythmic pieces but also encouraged them to explore different materials, manufacturing methods, and the fascinating world of music.
